the closest major city to us is Arezzo so we decided to use chris' day off to explore a little bit. besides having the most yummy fruit/custard tart of all time (we all know how much i love fruit flans back home), it was a gorgeous day! i got a sweet tan, had some yummy gelato (one scoop of chocolate, one scoop of hazelnut; chris got one scoop of chocolate, one of cherry), saw beautiful churches and experienced the prettiest scenery yet.
we love it here!
we love it here!
the architecture is just mind boggling.
it's so bike friendly. all the old, rusty bikes hanging out around the piazzas. love it!
apparently there's an incredible painting of the crucifixion in this church but you had to book in advance to see it. we were too lazy. we only live 15 mins away so we'll see it one day!
our lunchtime spot, under the tuscan sun (i haven't said that yet...it's funny!)
this is the view from a park in the middle of the city. seriously, it's unreal!
this picture is exactly like the ones that butterfield and robinson use on their promo cards...pure tuscan!
chris loves this picture. how the road goes from dirt road and wineries, to paved roads and city.
it's no wonder people dream of living in europe all their lives. if toronto looked half as beautiful as this, no one would want to leave. but toronto is beautiful in it's own way.
it's unfortunate that these amazing statues are all graffiti littered.
.
such incredible churches!
every street looks like this. you can't tell the difference between houses and stores but it's all really pretty
