Our adventures rescently brought us back to Verona. A few guides were unavailable to check out their van and equipment so Holly and I had the benefit of driving their van to region. They are guiding a trip that takes them from Verona to Venice. Originally I thought the plan was to deliver the bikes to Venice rather than verona.. but that wasn't in the works. Nevertheless, holly and I were luckey to get away (paid for by B&R) for the night somewhere other than Badia Al Pino.
We ventured off for Verona in the early afternoon hoping to meet up with the guides (Vicky and Nathan) in the early evening. We arrived in Verona around 5 pm (after hitting notorious italian traffic) and checked into our hotel. I called Vicky and we made arrangements for dinner in Bardelino (see earlier posting, Verona day 2). We met up had some pretty decent dinner and enjoyed playing around with the waitresses. Come 10:00, we figured we should head back it was dark out.. and holly and I didn't relly know how to get back to our hotel.. but eventually, we got there (about an hour and a half later when it should have taken only about an hour). We went to sleep to brave the next day.
Today.. we had no plan. we had a rental car and a whole day to do whatever we wanted. So after the amazing breakfast at the hotel (which consisted of pastries, cakes, brownies and cheese sandwiches) we decided that we wouldn't have the opportunity again to head to venice... and it was only an hour drive away. We hopped in the car and made our way to Venice.

Venice was beautiful. I'm glad we got the opportunity to go there. Holly and I walked around for about 4 hours. There are lots of little shops and MANY streets and islands to get lost on. We didn't have a map and ended up walking for about a half hour lost to find out way off the islands and back to our car.
All in all.. we had a great day and were so happy we got a trip to venice without having to fork out the money and time to take a train there.. THANK'S BUTTERFIELD! Another journey and city checked off the list.
