it was the day of chris' birth, we were in france, and we had to DO IT UP!
at midnight, chris was showered with french balloons (to his surprise!). in the morning, the lucky bean, got bacon and eggs and then i even came to his work and made him lunch! but the best part - the chocolate guinness cake! it was to die for and everyone in the office REALLY enjoyed it. we even sang and had candles!
after work, we went for a beer (same one from tour de france day) with paolo and then drinks with jill...then the best dinner we'd had since arriving in france (with jill and thomas). we went to a place called "Cave Madeleine" and boy did we eat (and drink!). chris had escargots to start (in the most amazing garlic butter soup EVER), turkey in a mushroom sauce with potatoes for dinner and creme brulee for dessert. i had homemade vegetable soup to start, boeuf bourguignon for dinner (melt in your mouth meat smother in gravy with potatoes) and an assortment of cheeses for dessert. with each course we got wine to match - white to start, light red for appetizers/dinner, an stronger organic red for dessert and then Marr de Bourgogne - like whiskey and grappa combined (it burned!)
THEN we went for more drinks and a madonna dance party! a random guy even bought chris a birthday shot - of raspberry vodka! hahaha
amazing day and even better night! what a way to spend your 27th birthday - in france, eating the best food, drinking amazing wine and dancing up a storm!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEANS!!
