so, first off (as i'm sure most of you are aware by now), on our way out of amsterdam, we got stopped by passport control and got into a tiny bit of trouble :( the passport lady decided to take a really close look into our stamps and realized we'd been in the EU for more than the 3 months we were allowed to legally stay there (luckily she didn't see the stamp from SIX months prior!). so, we got taken into the back room and had a few questions thrown at us. we feigned ignorance and they basically told us that our flights out of paris weren't really going to happen. they said, if we got caught trying to fly from london to paris, they'd deport us back to london and then we'd have to figure out way home from there. and there was a good chance that would happen. SO, stressed out at 8am, we got on our plane to london and decided to not risk it and change our flights home to leave from london, not paris. sad news. but, london was AWESOME!
bosco, the sweetest boy in london, came to pick us up at the airport and took on some sight-seeing right off the bat. that's how london rolls! first we went over to the greenwich to see the meridian. it was in the middle of a beautiful park (as you can see) and it was really interesting to walk through the museum all about time zones. after our trip there, we got our laundry done and met up with calvin. we just picked him up on the side of the road! hahahha. SO GOOD to see calvin!!!
because of disasterous entry into london, we decided to take the morning of our first day there to try and sort our way home. we basically ended up going to the canadian visa office - wrong place! so we walked to the canadian embassy halfway across downtown- they were USELESS. the receptionists at the door were telling us ways to get into france without getting our passports checked. seriously!! they were arguing between themselves about whether taking the bought over would work, although slightly illegal! hahhaha. what a way to represent the canadians, guys! we quickly left them to try the french embassy, hoping maybe they'd have an idea, considering we wanted to enter their county - WRONG PLACE. so they sent us to their visa place - which has recently been outsourced to the other side of town. off we went...and they basically shut us down. there was no way we could legally get into france...we'd either have to change our flights or chance it. we decided to change our flights, which was a huge hassel! but at least we didn't eff up our passports for the rest of our lives! plus!
below are some things we saw on our walks across the whole city :)

bosco and calvin were so patient with us for taking so much of the morning to run around (we love you!). we finally got to meet up for some drinks and the london eye!!! sightseeing is so much fun :)
the next day we did some more sightseeing. and thanks to the double decker bus tour tickets bosco gave us, we were dry from the rain and got to see a bunch of really cool stuff. castles, palaces, harrod's, all the cool stuff. this day also included our top gear extravaganza (it gets it's own post for being so epic). after top gear, we met up for drinks with calvin at the coolest/dirtiest bar i've ever been to. we all agreed it needs to be transported back to toronto because it's so awesome. it was so great to hang out with calvin - oh how we miss him in toronto
on our last day, we hung out in camden market with calvin before heading out the airport. it was the most epic market i've been to and i wish i had WAY more (or let's say ANY) money to spend there. i loved it! calvin was a sweetheart and took the train with us to the airport, hanging out for a bit before some sad goodbyes. actually, not so sad, considering calvin would coming to toronto almost a week later. hahaha. we got to see him on 2 sides of the world in a matter of weeks. best!
we just have to say, despite all the drama, london was AMAZING. and all thanks to bosco and calvin - hosts and tour guides extraordinaire! we love you guys and can't wait for you both to come over together so we can party it up again. we miss you. THANKS!!!
